Brigitte and Jean-Louis chose to settle at Domaine de la Bastidonne in the Luberon in 2000, when their 4th child was born, after 15 years in Lyon and a professional career in consulting and training.
The location appealed to them for its exceptional views over Le Grand Luberon, the surrounding hilltop villages and the beauty of the Provencal countryside.
The location is also ideal for its proximity to the great sites of the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, such as Les Gorges d’Oppedette, Les Ocres de Roussillon, Le Colorado provençal de Rustrel, the remarkable villages of Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Gordes and the beautiful cities of Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. From Céreste, it’s also easy to explore the Gorges du Verdon, the Alpilles, Mont Ventoux and Sainte-Victoire.
The region is also renowned for its cultural dynamism, with theater and music festivals, pottery and earthenware, not to mention gastronomy and vineyards.
We have excellent access to the A7 freeway (Avignon sud or Cavaillon exit) and the A51 freeway (Manosque or Forcalquier exit). And we’re just over an hour’s drive from the Avignon and Aix-en-Provence TGV stations. The airports of Marseille-Provence and Nice Côte-d’Azur allow our guests to rent a car and arrive at their destination while starting to discover our beautiful countryside.
On site, we offer 4 Gîtes de France-approved gîtes for 4 to 8 people each, which are generally rented separately, but can also be grouped together to enable ten or fifteen people to get together in a beautiful setting for a family celebration or a get-together with friends.
All this is enhanced by a swimming pool shared by the three gîtes, which is a good size (8X12) and, of course, secure in accordance with the regulations.
La Bastide 1830 has its own private heated swimming pool.
Our gardens are carefully designed and maintained, and include a jeu de boules and badminton court.
